Assessment of Genetic Variability, Heritability and Genetic Advance of Rice Genotypes (Oryza sativa L.)

The present investigation was carriedout with 25 rice genotypes. evaluation taken under three different environmental locations based on 11 quantitative traits. trials were laid out in RBD replications at Students Instructional Farm, MES (Main Experimental Station) and Agronomy Farm of A.N.D.U.A.T., Kumarganj, Ayodhya. environment-wise analysis variance pooled for environments covering one crop seasons, revealed high significant mean squares all the eleven characters evaluation. Considering performance genotypes conditions, viz. T-3, Kavery Sampoorna, NDRK-11-27, Moti Gold NDRK-11-29 exhibiting grain yield per plant some its important components irrigated condition. Three genotypes, NDRK-11-27 possessed highest among across environments. A wide range phenotypic genotypic coefficient variability observed. magnitude (>20%) PCV along GCV observed productive biological (34.88), (33.41%), L/B ratio (24.76) while recorded (31.00%), (25.14%), no. spikelet panicle (21.15%). Moderate estimates harvest index (17.75%), length (15.21%), height (13.6%) days to 50% flowering (12.41%) tiller (17.92%), (15.28%), leaf area (13.81%), (13.55%), (12.37%), (11.98%) (10.75%). heritability broad sense varied between 93.28% case 27.37% ratio. estimation into (93.28%) followed by (82.72%), (78.99%), fertility (75.70%). moderate reported (74.08%), (69.72%), number fertile (66.78%). low (27.37), (31.14%). High genetics advance percent indicating preponderance additive gene action.
